Frequently Asked Questions

These are the questions clients actually ask us — answered in plain English, with no runaround.

Do you come out to Half Moon Bay and Pacifica?

Yes, absolutely. We have family and friends on the coast and we're over there regularly on weekends anyway. There's no extra charge for coming over the hill — honestly, we enjoy the drive. We work in Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, and Princeton-by-the-Sea. Call or text and we'll get you on the schedule.

Do you come to my house?

Yes. Most of our work happens on-site at your home, where the computer, printer, or Wi-Fi problem actually lives. Some problems we can solve remotely instead and save you the visit. Either way, the first phone call is free — tell us what's going on and we'll tell you which approach makes sense and what it involves before any work starts.

What areas do you serve?

On the coast: Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, and Princeton-by-the-Sea. Over the hill: Mountain View, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, and Los Altos. We also work in the surrounding communities — if you're not sure whether you're in range, just call and ask.

Do you work on Macs, or just PCs?

Both, plus Chromebooks. Macs, Windows PCs, and Chromebooks all come through regularly, along with printers, tablets, and smart home devices.

My internet is fast but the Wi-Fi is terrible in half the house. Why?

Internet service brings a fast connection to one box in your home. Getting that speed to every room is a separate job called network distribution. Weak spots usually come from walls, distance, or router placement — and each has a different fix.

Can you install Starlink?

Yes. We find the best mounting spot, install the dish, route and weatherproof the cable, set up the router, and verify your internet is working before we leave.

Will a mesh router fix my dead zones?

Sometimes. Mesh repeats the signal it receives, so if a mesh point sits in a weak spot, it repeats a weak signal. We'll tell you honestly whether mesh, better placement, or a wired access point is the right fix for your house.

My computer is really slow. Is it worth fixing, or should I just buy a new one?

That depends on the machine, and we'll give you a straight answer either way. Plenty of slow computers just need malware cleaned out or a solid state drive put in, and they feel new again for a fraction of the cost of replacing. Others are genuinely at the end of the road, and we'll say so rather than sell you a repair that isn't worth it.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the job, so we start with a free phone conversation — tell us what's going on and we'll give you an honest sense of the work involved before we schedule anything. There is a service minimum for a visit, and we'll walk you through it before any work starts. If parts turn out to be needed, we'll quote those once we're into the job. No surprise charges. Internet installation (like Starlink) and whole-home Wi-Fi work are separate services, priced separately.

Still Have a Question?

Call or text and just describe what's happening. The first conversation is free, and we'll tell you honestly whether it's something we can help with.
